CEO in an industry that can’t be taught | Anna Maria Antippas – Europreneur Ep 23

GREECE

How do you learn the unteachable? According to Anna Maria Antippas , there is no textbook or course that can teach you much that would be useful in the music management industry, and she didn’t become an entrepreneur by studying the field. She became a music entrepreneur by watching her father.

The story of Cobalt Music , her record label in Greece, actually begins with her grandfather, who founded the company and passed it on to his son. Under her father’s guidance, the label was sold and transferred hands multiple times before finally falling under wide of umbrella of Universal.

It took a while before she was certain that he love and interest in the music industry was truly hers, independent of her father and grandfather’s legacy, but once she knew it, she took the first opportunity she had to buy back the company and make it her own.

Today, hers is a world of listening to an endless stream of demos, trying to keep up with the changing tides of the industry and working with artists who aren’t always able to adjust to success well.
